SITUATION OF THE SCHOOL
The school is situated in the Yavi department, about 20 kms away from La Quiaca. 15 pupils – boys and girls – from age 4 to 16 attend the school.
They come from neighboring areas like Tafna, Bolivia, Toquero, Escalla and La Ciénaga. Most pupils go to school by foot. They get breakfast and lunch.
The school is located in the "puna"(*), about 3,600 m above the sea level.
(*) The word “puna” comes from quechua language and means waste lands or cold earth.
