They finally have water!! |

From Suri Pozo, Argentina - ANUPAZ is taking advantage of the summer holidays to make improvements at School 367, where the pupils didn't even have drinking water available.
In a zone where temperatures can rise to above 38°C (100º F), the children had no suitable, healthy environment in which to study. But now, when the next school year begins in March, they will have a different school. Two 3,750-litre water tanks have been installed with a pump
system so that pupils can have water for drinking and cooking as well as for toilets and showers. In fact, not all the children have water in their houses; so we thought it necessary to install showers at the school. The walls and floors of the bathrooms have been tiled in order to ensure that they will be clean and hygienic. |

We also decided to protect the roof with special paint because, although the climate is very dry, the rains are very heavy when they come and the water doesn't run off the roof properly. So this will also protect the area where the water tank is located. The final touch is to paint the entire school inside and out and to tile the classroom floor. Tables, faucets and sinks will also be installed in the kitchen area (a refrigerator and cooker will be installed at a later stage).
All this work is being carried out with the valuable assistance and supervision of Francisco, a local volunteer who has placed his in-depth building knowledge at the service of ANUPAZ. With untiring, steadfast devotion, he has faced the heat and difficult living conditions in
Suri Pozo so that everything will be perfect and ready for the start of the school year.
